Ever try to imagine what those faces are like behind the voices?  Well it's not always a nice surprise (but don't tell anyone we said that)!  Here you can (virtually) meet our volunteer presenters and Directors!

Your Local Community Radio Programmes

We have live shows every day here on Radio Wimborne - you can spot them, they're the ones in blue font (see each 'day' page).  Some of our shows are repeated later on in the week - just in case you missed your favourite presenter or some breaking news about town!

If you miss the repeat too, you can always check our  Listen Again page to see if the latest edition of the show you're after is still up there!

What is a Sponsor?

We love local companies sponsoring Radio Wimborne, it means you care!  We hope that by sponsoring your local community volunteer run Radio Station, you get a warm fuzzy feeling inside - and extra customers!

We have just one main station sponsor each each and in 2019 it is Swain and Rands local Home Improvement company.  And you can also sponsor by taking out an Advert with us.

Other ways to support

Radio Wimborne is all about our local community and we just love our town and all the lovely people in it!  We decided to do a Pied Piper exercise around town to show you all our favourite places and people.  As people joined us on our tour of the town, the crowd grew and the traffic stopped!  See if you can spot  anyone you know!  The video features amongst others, some of our presenters, town Firefighters, Police, The Dorset Youth Marching Band, local tradespeople and some dancers from local theatre company!  Go on, have a look and see who or what you recognise!

This season 2019-20 Radio Wimborne are pleased to be supporting Wimborne Town Football Club with 'Live' match coverage of all home matches together with most away games too. Last season was our first season working together which gave our Friday Night Rock Show and Lazy Sunday Afternoon presenter Tim Allan the chance to bring updates and interviews into Steve White's Saturday Sports Round Up Show 15:00-17:15 each week.

Steve White's Saturday Sports Round Up Show continues each week 15:00-17:15 on our main station output which you can listen to via our website, Alexa, Google or TuneIn. Steve will be popping in and out for the latest updates from the Magpies with Tim Allan who is joined this season by Chris Dale on commentary from 14:45 to 17:15 via our 'Outside Broadcast' feed below.

Carols in the Cornmarket

Our team are pleased to be able to support the wonderful Carol singing in the Cornmarket again this year.  20th December at 6pm, a large crowd will gather to join in the festive singing.  The Mayor will be there collecting for the Mayor's charities this year along with many other people speaking and performing.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Christmas Lumiere

We are so sad to announce that the 2019 Christmas Son Et Lumiere has had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. Please see our Facebook page if you need more details:.

Wimborne Town FC

Radio Wimborne are in our 2nd season covering the Magpies matches and it's going so well we needed extra portable power to travel with the team!

As a volunteer run/not for profit station a battery powered generator was somewhat out of our budget so up stepped the brilliant supporters club who agreed to purchase the power pack for us for which we and the station are extremely grateful!

Huge thank you to Paula, Steve and John plus all the supporters club members!

As of 5th August, we're temporarily re siting to Allendale House who have kindly made space for us during the refurbishment of the Allendale Centre.  Other than some minor schedule changes to accommodate, you shouldn't notice the difference!

Dreamboats Regatta

The Dreamboats charity on the River Stour in Wimborne where you can hire various boats, had a promotional fund raising event on the 7th July. Their annual Regatta was supported by Radio Wimborne providing the PA system and presenters to help the day flow along. There was competitive racing and loads of laughs along the way. Bob the Sax, the Polly Morris Band and the Dorset Youth Marching Band provided the music.

A fabulous day showing off the support that Wimborne residents give to the town.
